Jumping for joy

The Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad ‘One Star’ International Showjumping Championship has come to a close at the Military Sports Association’s Field in Riffa.

The championship was organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) and was being held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, first deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, president of the General Sports Authority, and president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The event was attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, sons of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad; and His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, president of BREEF.   

HH Shaikh Khalid, who congratulated the winners, also commended the efforts of the federation under HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah, Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, chairman of the Showjumping Committee, and all those involved in the championship, commending their contribution to its success.

 

Winners:

HH Shaikh Faisal presented awards to the winners of the 140cm jumps competition.

First place went to Ministry of Interior rider Hussain Mohammed Dadullah. Second place was secured by fellow Ministry of Interior rider Maiouf Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi, and third place went to Ali Isa, also from the Ministry of Interior. Gianni Govoni from Italy took fourth place, followed by Mahmoud Abdulqader in fifth and Ahmed Mansour in sixth.   
 

Huda Janahi, a member of the showjumping committee, presented the awards in the 120cm jumps competition.

First place went to Ministry of Interior rider Sultan Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi, second to Maieouf Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi, and third to Badr Mohammed Janahi. 
In the 130cm jumps competition, Dadullah won first place, Sultan Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi placed second and Mohammed Saif Mohammed took third.
