The diva duo will be heard together this Friday (Feb. 16).
Ariana Grande expressed her disbelief as she announced on Wednesday (Feb. 14) her collaboration with Mariah Carey on a remix of her single "Yes, And?" In an Instagram post featuring a photo of them touching foreheads, Grande stated, “I cannot believe the words i am typing,” while revealing the remix set to release on Friday (Feb. 16) and referring to Carey as her “lifelong inspiration.”
Grande showed her gratitude to Carey, saying, “There truly are no words that suffice. thank you from the bottom of my heart for this dream come true and for sprinkling your brilliance and magic on my little song @mariahcarey.” She added, “It means more to me than i could ever possibly articulate and i cannot wait for everyone to hear this ! i love you eternally !!!!!!!” Carey reposted the same message on her Instagram.
This collaboration marks the second time the two singers have teamed up, with Grande previously appearing on a 2020 remix of Mariah’s Christmas song “Oh Santa!” alongside Jennifer Hudson, and making a cameo at one of Carey’s Christmas shows in New York in December.
Grande's role in the live-action adaptation of Wicked, where she stars as Glinda the Good Witch opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba, was showcased in the first trailer during Sunday’s Super Bowl LVIII. While the film is set for release in the fall, Grande’s album, Eternal Sunshine, is scheduled to drop on March 8. She recently disclosed that she will not release another single until after the album’s release.
