Bahrain's U16 Basketball, Arab Champions!
Bahrain’s U16 basketball team received a warm and festive welcome after returning home from a victorious campaign at the 22nd Arab Championship held in Egypt.
The young squad, who delivered a standout performance throughout the tournament, arrived at Bahrain International Airport to a celebration organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). Team members were greeted with flowers, cheers, and plenty of national pride by the BOC’s board member, Ishaq Ibrahim Ishaq, Bahrain Basketball Association vice president Nader Al Awadhi, secretary-general Ahmed Hafez, and other members. Also present were Hisham Al Balushi, the director of the Sports Federations department, and Maden Alwanas, the director of the Technical Affairs department.
The delegation praised the team's efforts and congratulated them on a well-earned title, highlighting their determination, teamwork, and skill.
The victory was recognised as a reflection of the growing strength of Bahrain’s basketball scene and the efforts made by the Bahrain Basketball Association and its clubs in nurturing young talent.
Officials also credited the continuous support His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, whose launch of the Golden Generation League and similar programmes has created new pathways for youth athletes.
