Bahrain Reigns Victorious: Royal Endurance Team Shines at Royal Windsor Horse Show

The presence of Bahrain's Crown Prince at the Royal Windsor Horse Show marked a diplomatic success, showcasing the island's talent and strengthening international relations.

It’s been a winning weekend for Bahrain in the UK.

It started off with his Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, meeting with King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Head of the Commonwealth during the Royal Windsor Horse Show’s Endurance race.

The meeting took place in the island’s pavilion at the showcase which is held at Windsor Great Park. The Crown Prince, who was attending the popular event on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, had praised the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his participation with his children in several international endurance races.

He also highlighted that the participation of Bahraini jockeys’ in the international championship, which boasts the best of the best, is a great opportunity to showcase the island’s talents and expertise in this sport.

To Bahrain’s delight, the Royal Endurance Team dominated at the Windsor Horse Festival.

The Victorious team clinched first place in the 160km race led by rider Othman Abduljaleel Al Awadhi, under the guidance of Shaikh Nasser. Meanwhile, the Al Ru'ood team secured victory in the 120km race, with rider Ahmed Khaled Ahmed Althawadi leading the charge.

Victorious team rider Cecilia Garcia also claimed first place in the 100km race.

The Crown Prince also attended the Show Jumping (International) Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for The King’s Cup and other competitions, which included the participation of Bahraini equestrian professionals.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show was held in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh.
