The "From the Post" initiative has come to a close, giving people from across the island that chance to connect with Manama’s rich heritage throughout the Spring of Culture.
Organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities for its third year, the event took place every Saturday as part of the festival at the Post Office Museum. It offered individuals tours, lectures, workshops, and traditional music performances, bringing them closer to the city’s, markets, neighborhoods, arts and architecture.
The final week, which was held on February 22nd, focused on Manama’s architectural heritage.
There was a tour of the historic schools of Manama led by Ali Karimi, as well as an acrylic painting with music workshop conducted by Nada Al Muqahwi followed by a photography tour titled Shot and Essence by Hassan Al Nasheet.
The day continued with a discussion on the Urban Form of Manama, hosted by Dr Wafa Al Ghatam on Bab Al Bahrain’s upper terrace, and concluded with a performance by Dar Al Budaiya Al Janoubiya Band, held opposite Bab Al Bahrain, where the audience enjoyed an evening of traditional Bahraini music.
Additionally, the Post Office Museum’s terrace hosted Arena Speciality Coffee daily.
